Beauty trend: Natural glowing skin

Fresh-faced beauty and barely-there makeup was a one of the beauty trends seen on the SS12 catwalks. Dewy skin with a peachy glow is already one of my favourite daytime looks – it is natural, youthful, and looks fresh for spring. Below are the items I currently use to achieve it.

Marc by Marc Jacobs, SS12

Stella McCartney SS12

At the moment I am using Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Cottonseed, which I mention because I think it has helped my skin look far more radiant than my previous cleansers.

I use a  primer (Clear Prep Primer by Cover FX) and then apply foundation, which at the moment is Natural FX Water Based Foundation by Cover FX. I have mentioned this foundation in a previous post and it works well for me as it feels really light and doesn’t dull the skin.

Benefit High Beam is my highlighter of choice, and if applied over the cheeks and brow bones gives a natural sheen which makes the skin look glow!

MAC Cremeblend Blush in Something Special – I use cream blush rather than powder as I think it keeps the skin looking natural and radiant. I’m all about the sheen! The colour I use is peachy, which suits fair skin.

Although many of the SS12 catwalk looks had bare lashes, being blonde I look quite strange without mascara and I use MAC Opulash.

The catwalks mainly featured a matte lip with the natural look, which I sometimes do. If I fancy adding gloss I currently use Dior Addict Ultra-gloss in Pearl, which again is a peachy hue suited to fair skin.
