London Fashion Week is in full swing (more about that later I’m sure), and yet it is one of the later shows at New York Fashion Week that has captivated me today. For someone recovering from flu and feeling a bit sorry for themselves, there is nothing like the sight of otherwordly models in angel feathers, chiffon and lace and Greek goddess-esque gilded gowns and sandals. The Marchesa AW12 show, against a gold-edged mirror backdrop, was a glorious feast for my poor mortal eyes. Seemingly taking inspiration from the immortals this collection is magical, from the lovely shorter drop-waist dresses to the stunning fairytale gowns (like the rose gold mirrored-skirt gown pictured last).
