My favourite red carpet looks are always the ones that stand out from the crowd. It doesn’t matter how elegant Gwyneth looked in white Tom Ford, how ethereal Rooney Mara’s Givenchy Haute Couture gown was or how sultry Angelina looked in Atelier Versace, my eye is always drawn to the dress that is slightly different. The red carpet at this year’s Oscars was awash with black, oyster, gold and embellishments, so it was Maria Menounos looking effortless and pretty in a cool, flattering mint green that caught my eye. This was my favourite dress from the Oscars actually, although also looking good in pale green was Berenice Bejo in an embellished Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture gown.
My other favourite look was seen at the Vanity Fair after party, where Cameron Diaz changed into a simple-yet-zingy orange figure-hugging dress by Victoria Beckham. I think she made the right choice not to wear this to the Oscar ceremony as it is so simple, but I think she looked stunning! Also in a bright figure-hugging number for the Vanity Fair party was Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who looked flawless as always.
So my ideal 2012 Oscars looks – cool mint for the ceremony, sexy and spicy for the after party!
