This week is the inaugural Manchester Fashion Week and I couldn’t let it go by without being part of it, as I can only hope it’s the start of something! Manchester’s most luxurious shopping destination The Avenue made a chic location, and Lisa Stannard illustrations at the entrance, cupcakes, bejewelled artwork, frozen yoghurt, cocktails (and a cocktail bar menu on an ipad) and a retro sweetie cart certainly ticked a lot of boxes for the fashion loving blogger set.
One of my favourite campaigns for SS12 was Mulberry at the seaside, so I took the opportunity to see the Mulberry show. The show was short and sweet, and featured some of their key SS12 pieces such as the Lollipop dress, star sweater dress and, of course, various colour-pop Bayswaters. My favourite piece was a pale green mac, but then I realised I’d come wearing a pale green mac! I’d find it hard to justify that one, although the Mulberry one was delightfully slouchy-chic.
Nice to see the quirky visual merchandising in the Mulberry store on The Avenue as I passed, and I hope to see Manchester Fashion Week return even bigger next year!
