Minnie Mouse style

I love it when two of my loves merge, so a fashion collection inspired by Minnie Mouse which will launch at London Fashion Week is right up my street (you know I love my Disney jewellery). The popularity of Minnie Mouse transcends all generations – my Grandma loves her, and so does my friend’s two-year-old daughter – so it’s only right she gets her moment on the catwalk.

You can’t deny that the iconic mouse with her statement polka dots, bows and those trademark ears makes a unique style muse, and combine that with quirky accessory designers Tatty Devine and Lulu Guiness, as well as fashion designers including Giles Deacon, Michael van der Ham and Richard Nicoll, and, well…I’m excited!

The “Inspired by Minnie Mouse” launch on 16th September will unveil the collection, which will then be auctioned for charity (Disney will donate to Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation). I’m already intrigued by these few sketches as to the different inventive ways that the essence of Minnie can be channelled into runway fashion….
