The versatile, transitional dress

This pretty dipped hem dress (Ribbon Luxe from Bank) may look like an ideal Christmas dress with it’s festive deep red floaty fabric and the gold glitter belt, and I certainly made use of it over the Christmas period by pairing it with heels and a sparkly clutch, but it turns out this dress has far more potential than that! In an attempt to save a bit of money this month, I’ve avoided the sales and have raided my existing wardrobe collection for inspiration. I love it when an item turns out to be really versatile, and even more so when a winter collection Christmas dress can be reinvented for January, February, March and beyond! Check out the outfits I’ve compiled (using items I already own), proving how versatile and transitional my “Christmas dress” really is.

A look that’s a bit edgier

Hat from Forever 21, jersey blazer from River Island, boots from Carvela, belt from a source forgotten (I think it came with the faux fur gillet above)

And even… a cute spring tea party style look

Layering a tops over dresses is such a creative way to reinvent something!
