Over the Easter weekend a group of 4 of us went down to Treetop Golf in Manchester Printworks for a mini golf adventure! I’ve not played mini golf for a very long time so I was excited to try out this tropical themed course in central Manchester.
There are two 18 hole courses at Treetop Golf; the rainforest-themed Tropical Trail and Ancient Explorer, plus a bonus 19th hole. It’s a good idea to check online for prices and offers, as there are deals for doing both courses in one visit, deals on certain days of the week and family tickets too.
AD: PR/Gifted Trip.
Our group took on the Ancient Explorer course which was themed with ancient temples, crumbling ruins and some fun animated set pieces to entertain. It was a fun 18 hole course which was not too challenging for any of us adults, and would also be a suitable level for children to enjoy. None of us got a hole in one, though there were some close calls and a lot of holes in 2. On the flipside, some of us found the occasional hole challenging enough to need the maximum 6 of shots, so a good variety and a fun experience, which took us about an hour.
In my opinion, the best thing about Treetop Gold is the amazing immersive tropical theming with a sunny holiday feel from the moment you enter the door. It’s like a tropical escape hidden in central Manchester! We were also impressed by how family friendly it is, both in terms of the games as well as the practical stuff like food options, pram storage and lockers for your bags while you play the course.
After our game of golf we went to the restaurant area “The Market” where you can buy fresh handmade pizzas, treats and drinks from Pizza Cabana, Jungle Buzz Café and The Thirsty Toucan. Although not an extensive menu, we found the pizzas to be delicious and amazing value from just £5.75 per pizza. The portions and prices are ideal for a family outing!
Alongside our pizzas we tried out a couple of delicious tropical-themed cocktails, the Bamboo Cooler and the Ginger Gecko, and also their Easter special milkshake The Shakewell Tart, which were all delicious too.
The restaurant theming was a great, just like the rest of Treetop, with every detail taken into consideration. And as a bonus, the soundtrack while we ate was Postmodern Jukebox which is right up my street.
All round we had a fun few hours and I would highly recommend a visit to Treetop Golf for both adult groups or couples and families with children. And as it is all indoors, it’s also the perfect rainy day activity to entertain kids in the school holidays!
