Vogue Fashion’s Night Out

So Vogue Fashion’s Night Out came to Manchester, and Manchester loved it! From the many stores that got involved to the shoppers that came out for the night, the atmosphere in the city was electric on Thursday night! There was so much going on that I didn’t get chance to see half of it, or even half of the stuff I’d planned to! But that’s great right? Better to leave wanting more than to feel underwhelmed.

I started the night with a glass of Prosecco in Selfridges, where William Banks-Blaney talked us through his William Vintage collection – there’s nothing like some fizz and seeing a vintage classic Christian Dior LBD in the flesh to get me in the mood for an evening of fashion.

Then it was off to Manchester Arndale where there were plenty of things going on, from the live fashion shows every 20 minutes to the makeovers and spa treatments at various pop-up stands, and the event was kicked off with actress Sarah Jayne Dunn launching the Arndale’s giant pair of ‘Red Killer Heels’.

I enjoyed an arm massage and a “cloud cocktail” courtesy of LUSH spa, (I was completely unaware that LUSH had a network of spas, but they sound right up my street) and then it was off to Fossil to design an Arm Party (a stack featuring a watch and selection of bracelets) – I’m very excited to announce I entered my “stack” into their Twitter competition on the night, and won!

Topshop hosted a Q&A with Kate Phelan, and it’s worth mentioning Boux Avenue –  a new lingerie store for the Arndale that Theo Paphitis officially opened on the day.

I took a walk through the city after dark, and Manchester shoppers really had come out in force! There were bars and music in so many stores, including the Selfridges DJ van livening up Exchange Square, and there was an incredible party atmosphere across the city. I called in to for drinks in GAP and Barbour, but didn’t even get down to Spinningfields to see Matthew Williamson in Flannels or The Maccabees‘ DJ set at Emporio Armani.

Overall a great show by Manchester  – so I’m really hoping VFNO comes back next year!
