Natural Vegan Nail Polishes from Benecos

This Spring I have been trying out some nail polishes from a beauty brand I’d never heard of before – Benecos. They are a cruelty-free brand founded in Germany with a range of beauty products free from SLS, Parabens, Paraffin and Silicones. Their range includes vegan-friendly nail polishes, which are 90% natural and non-toxic. These Happy Nails polishes are also formulated with nurturing avocado oil and strengthening biotin, and are water/air permeable to aid nail health whilst wearing them. With all this in mind, I couldn’t wait to test the 3 of their 15 colours that I was gifted.

Non-Toxic 8-Free Nail Polishes

I’d never heard about the safety levels of nail polish, from “3-free” to “10-free”, but it’s actually quite a big deal because there is plenty of medical research showing a link between the chemicals in nail polishes and health problems. It’s something I’d never considered before, but now that I know about the varying degrees of toxicity in polishes it is definitely something I’ll think about when purchasing from now on. Benecos “HAPPY NAILS” polishes are 8-free, meaning that they are free from the top 8 worst chemicals typically found in polish (Toluene, Camphor, Colophony, Phthalates, Formaldehyde, Parabens, Silicones and Halo-organic Compounds). Good to know!

Benecos Happy Nails Natural Nail Polish – Bubble Gum 5ml £4.95

This was my favourite of the 3 colours. It’s not actually bubble gum pink as the name would suggest, but more of a pale dusky pink when applied, which I love! This polish applied beautifully thanks to the big thick brush and I only needed 2 coats for a flawless finish!

Benecos Happy Nails Natural Nail Polish – Peach Sorbet 5ml £4.95

Bright coral is a classic summer nail colour for me, and I’ll definitely be bringing this out for my holidays! You’ll see me sporting this in sandals all summer long. This applied nicely too, although the coverage was slightly less perfect and I did do a third coat.

Benecos Happy Nails Natural Nail Polish – Galaxy 5ml £4.95

I felt a bit weird wearing something so dark and sparkly in Spring, but the colour is beautiful, and only needed 2 coats. I think I’ll be saving it for Autumn/Winter parties.

Would I recommend Benecos Polishes?

I’d definitely recommend giving these Happy Nails polishes a go. I found them really easy and lovely to apply and they are just as hard wearing as my usual polishes, lasting at least 5 days before they started to chip, which is usual for me when I wear any nail polish.

If you like to shop cruelty-free, natural or vegan cosmetics then it’s really a no brainer. But even if not, the quality is great, the price is great, and they are much less toxic and a lot less damaging to your nails than a lot of standard high street polishes.
