Revamped TK Maxx store: purchases and wish list!

Today I attended the grand opening of the newly transformed TK Maxx store in Bury (Greater Manchester). I’m already big fan of TK Maxx, particularly for branded shoes and quirky homeware, and it’s my go-to place for unusual food items for creating food hampers to give as gifts. So I couldn’t turn down the chance to check out this shiny, newly made-over store on its first day, which featured balloons, chocolates and a £10 voucher for the first 200 people through the door. This Bury store is actually much bigger than my local Salford store and a pleasant shopping experience as it is bright, spacious and so well-organised (not necessarily easy to achieve when you stock so many different products (they can boast stocking “an average of 50,000 items with daily deliveries bringing up to 10,000 new items to store every week”).

TK Maxx’s big selling point is obviously selling famous brands at discounted prices and some of the best finds today include these House of Holland tights and this cute cream and red belted mac by Antoni and Alison. I mentioned that branded shoes were a particular favourite, and I was tempted by these silver Hunter wellies and black Michael by Michael Kors heels for £50 (pictured with animal print Guess and Ted Baker heels).

They are currently stocking a great range of summer styles, including printed dresses and tops, these funky Mexican-print shorts and candy-coloured jeans. I bought a cute turquoise and cream silk dotty pussy-bow blouse (£17) and an oversize sheer cerise and navy striped tank (£10), but as both of these items look much better on me than on the hanger, they’ll appear in a later post! I also bought a 2-pack of Calvin Klein opaque tights for £8 (bargain!).

TK Maxx Home is always amazing, with useful items (pans, cutlery etc), branded items (such as this really pretty pink Le Creuset range) and quirky and unusual items, which I always love seeing even though sadly the décor in my flat is not creative enough for them to fit in. The only problem with the home section is that I can’t afford all the things I want!

So… a nice start to the weekend with a few cute purchases and a much longer wish list!
