Outfit post: Autumn wedding at the English seaside

Yesterday I went to my friend’s wedding in Poulton-le-Fylde and Blackpool, which had been a bit of an outfit dilemma – what to wear for an Autumn wedding?

In the end I went for on-trend claret in my tiered pleat mini dress and a black blazer. The weather was actually gorgeous on the day, so I didn’t need all those weather/warmth worries! I finished off with chunky gold accessories and an oversized cream clutch.

Claret tiered pleat dress (ASOS), blazer (Wallis), ankle strap heels (Miss KG),

gold ring (Versace for H&M), multi chain necklace (Forever 21)

And what a beautiful wedding it was: pretty old church decked out in harvest festival flowers and fruits, gleaming Bentley, charming Victorian sea front hotel, glorious October sunshine, afternoon/cream tea canapés, Blackpool rock favours (with the bride and groom’s name running through the centre), cream roses, a live band complete with trumpet and sax playing everything from 70’s disco through to Kings of Leon, and the sun going down on a backdrop of the Promenade, gently lapping waves and the twinkling lights of the Illuminations. And of course, a lovely couple!
