Yesterday I knew that I was going out for a few drinks after work with a group of colleagues, which poses the dilemma, do I take a change of outfit or do I go for an office to bar look? As the main port of call was going to be Bakerie, the chic yet relaxed Northern Quarter wine bar, I decided on a simple day-to-night look of a denim shirt and black skater skirt with the old faithful Chelsea boots. I’m not even wearing heels, how’s that for laidback? I also tried out one of my unopened Models Own nail polishes bought in their most recent online sale. I thought Soda Pop Pink was possibly a bit too “Spring” for January, but now we’re well in to February I couldn’t resist the prospect of Barbie pink nails any longer! I like the sugary pop of colour.
I like to recommend places to eat, drink and do in Manchester, so, more about Bakerie… It brands itself as a friendly bread and wine bar, and if what you like is a nice glass of wine and freshly baked bread (gluten-free options available) in a chilled out, well-presented setting, then make this your destination. It doesn’t feel pretentious at all, it’s a great place for a catch up with friends, and it’s always my colleagues’ first stop for Friday drinks. Plus if you’re looking for a romantic Valentine’s night destination their Valentine’s menu is coated in ruby-slipper-style glitter – tempting!
Great skirt and I love the denim trend.
I adore Bakerie, I tend to knock back a bottle of red (sharing, honest!) with one of their cheese & bread boards.
