I wanted to make sure I posted about Manchester Arndale’s Flash Mob Fashion event today, not to ruin the surprise (after all, a flash mob is meant to catch people unaware), but because the event continues tomorrow and it’s such a great chance to take advantage of some unexpected discounts on the day.
This Flash Mob Fashion a fun initiative designed to bring the fashion of the Arndale’s retailers to life with dancers performing spontaneous routines at various points around the Arndale whilst showcasing SS13 styles. I caught 3 of their performances with fashion from Next, Oasis and American Apparel, and if the buzz created by this isn’t exciting enough for you, many of the retailers involved are holding flash sales with 20% off in store in the hour following their routine. Who wouldn’t appreciate that on a shopping trip??
Spring pastel shades from Next
Pretty peaches and cream from Oasis
Love the mint, pale denim and white combo from American Apparel
There’s also a style station with the lovely ladies from Simply Be providing plus-size style advice, and (very excitingly) a pop-up beauty studio offering shoppers a bit of free pampering, including Bumble and Bumble who were on hand to create my tousled locks with their Sea Spray. http://www.bumbleandbumble.co.uk/
Lush introduced me to their emotional brilliance colour wheel, where I picked out my 3 makeup colours, and that’s how I ended up wearing a strong coral lip shade so early in the day. I have to say though, I’m very impressed with this makeup range from Lush. The pigments are so strong, so if you love vibrant makeup (which I do, particularly for lips) I would recommend giving this a try. The brilliant colour lasted all day, and don’t forget its cruelty free too!
And not forgetting Hotel Chocolat who are giving hand massages to promote their premium spa skincare range Cocoa Juvenate (who knew??). Not only were these products lovely, I am also extremely pleased to discover that they aren’t tested on animals and do not use Palm Oil – gold stars all round for you Hotel Chocolat. These products would make lovely gifts.
I only caught 3 of the Flash Mob performances and flash sales, but they take place every 20 minutess all weekend, with loads of different retailers involved. If you’re shopping in Manchester tomorrow – definitely check it out!
Lovely hairdo 🙂 certainly looks worth a visit!
