Manchester city centre is full of hidden places to explore, which is why I just love working there. I’m always going for little wanders on my lunch breaks and discovering new shops and places to eat. So I thought I’d post on a few of the places I visited/passed in the Northern Quarter one lunchtime last week when the sun was out.
My favourite place for cake is still Sugar Junction. They always have a gorgeous selection (plus the savoury menu is pretty good too), and I love the vintage décor. I visit for a lunchtime treat every now and again, and this week I tried their carrot and courgette cake, which I can only describe as amazing!
Next door to Sugar Junction is the cute florist Northern Flower. Always worth stopping to take some photos of a pretty florist display!
I walk past Bonbon Chocolate Boutique quite often, and still have yet to visit. I’m not sure about the hot chocolates in this weather, but ice cream does sound appealing. Still very much on my “to do” list.
And finally I had a wander around the Manchester Craft and Design Centre. I love the cute handcrafted things you can buy from the studios there, and it has a lovely vibe. There are some new shops in there since my last visit; including This is Pewter for stylish pewter items for the home and Sausage Dog – full of very unusual soft toys.
