On Thursday evening I escaped Manchester’s grey skies for an event hosted by South Beach. It was held in Lola’s cocktail lounge in the Northern Quarter where the tiki décor was a perfect match for the beach- and swimwear brand. It was (almost) like being on holiday for real. The friendly bartenders instantly made us welcome with their menu of rum cocktails, including this refreshing bright neon green Paradise Punch containing rum, mango and ginger beer.
Of course, their latest collection is what we were all there to see and as always it’s full of eye-catching colours, prints and textures perfect for summer beach holidays. I loved the fashion pieces actually, such as this fringed neon top which would be a great layering piece for the beach or a festival, and the very cute block pastel denim shorts, which I’ve featured on my blog before.
And they have plenty of swimwear to peruse too – there is probably a bikini or one-piece to suit every taste. Whether you like vintage style high-cut bottoms, neon, crochet, embellishments or cute prints they have pretty much all styles covered, and the prices are great considering it’s a brand popular with (minor) celebrities. Here are a couple of my favourite swimwear sets from the collection.
We were kept entertained in other ways too, with manicures provided by Skin Health Spa, amazing cakes from @BakeOrama (that’s her Twitter handle and she’s the talent behind the amazing cake selection at Home Sweet Home) and a beach ball piñata – see the before and after shots below.
Best of all I got the chance to meet some lovely Manchester-based bloggers I’ve never met before – here are some of us in novelty seaside accessories. Why not pay their blogs a visit: Abi (kemples.blogspot.co.uk), Amy (amyelizabethfashion.blogspot.co.uk) and Emma (misspond.com).

Was lovely to meet you 🙂 x
