30th Birthday Celebrations and Plans

So yesterday was my 30th birthday, and rather than one big 30th party I have been celebrating in different exciting ways that suit all the different sides of my personality.

  • I embraced my childish side with my recent trip to Disneyland Paris.
  • I celebrated silliness and fun with friends at a fab Greek night complete with Greek dancing at Bouzouki by Night.
  • I enjoyed fantastic food and fine dining in the company of my close family at Alberts restaurant in Worsley.
  • And next week me and Craig will be living it up in Barcelona – somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for such a long time, so I’m very excited.

And then that got me thinking of all the things I want to do this year. Here’s my list of 30 things I want to do, try or achieve in my 30th year. (This list is only fun by the way – there’s no life-shaping things in here like mortgages or babies ha).

30th birthday to do list
  1. Watch an outdoor concert.
  2. Go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
  3. Give Mad Men a try – I’ve heard good things about this series.
  4. Go for a picnic using my picnic hamper.
  5. See Jersey Boys in Manchester when it tours the UK.
  6. And for that matter, see it at the cinema next month.
  7. See Barnum on tour in Manchester.
  8. Improve my singing.
  9. Bake something using coconut oil as a healthier butter substitute.
  10. Watch the recording of Tim Rice’s new musical From Here to Eternity when it screens at cinemas in July.
  11. Create and edit some videos which could potentially be the start of a YouTube channel.
  12. Create a nice balcony garden to be proud of (summer weather permitting).
  13. And then have a BBQ on the balcony.
  14. Try some Fudge hair chalks.
  15. Visit the newly renovated Manchester library.
  16. Make some home-made ice lollies and be creative with the recipes.
  17. Make a scrapbook.
  18. Try some new places to eat in Manchester including Proper Tea, Australasia and The Blue Pig.
  19. Get some cute wellies and use them.
  20. Make macaroons.
  21. Perfect the art of beach hair.
  22. Read at least 1 book a month.
  23. Make ice cream.
  24. Make a concerted effort to lose weight.
  25. Have that massive clear out I keep thinking about.
  26. Go on a treasure trail walk.
  27. Make more time for “date nights” with Craig.
  28. Finish painting my Russian dolls.
  29. Learn how to follow a sewing pattern.
  30. Go camping.

And just because it’s my birthday post, I thought I’d also share a few of my lovely presents too!
