Positive Thinking

I’ve not been feeling all that cheerful for the past week or so, and in particular since Friday after having an extremely frustrating day at work. However I always try to remember that actually I’m very lucky to have very few real problems. A little positive thinking can go a long way, and I think this quote from the TV show Derek is a great reminder of all a person needs to be happy in life…

I have no shortage of any of the above things so I found it cheered me up to think of some of them, including some exciting projects I have coming up. And just think, if you’re not exactly where you want to be just yet, at least that ticks the last box of having something to wish for. Life would be pretty boring if you had nothing to strive for!

I also love this quote that I saw on Instagram one day and have never forgotten:

“Do something today that your future self will thank you for”

On those days when I don’t know what to do with myself I think this is a great quote to bring to mind to motivate myself to do something that has some meaning, no matter how small it may be.

So although the weekend is nearly over (boo!), stay positive everyone!

I used to have incredibly stressful times at work and feel so exhausted and muted for longer periods, so my friends and I started texting each other every day with 3 positive things we’d experienced that day (even if it only was getting to lunch break, anything counted) and it made a huge difference in being more positive in general 🙂
