After being ill over Christmas I am determined to stay cold- and flu- free for the rest of the winter. I’ve also over-indulged for the whole of December, so today marks the start of a healthy January, and the first thing I did was blend up a delicious tropical smoothie using my Nutri Ninja and ingredients that would be great for boosting my immune system. For extra health benefits I could have added a handful of fresh spinach, but I decided to keep it fruity and fun this time.
For one glassful I used:
- 3 clementines or satsumas
- 1 banana
- A good splash of pineapple juice (or fresh pineapple)
- 1 tablespoon manuka honey
- 1 tablespoon raw coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh root ginger
The Nutri Ninja is a truly superior machine and whipped this up in 45 seconds with the press of 1 button, and the result is a delicious tropical fruity smoothie with a bit of a kick thanks to the ginger. Here’s hoping that I’ll be fully protected from cold and flu bugs!

Yum looks fab! I always love having manuka honey when I am sick, usually with some lemon and ginger in hot water – my fave 🙂 x
