Trends Illustrated and a Bespoke Unicorn Tee

This weekend Manchester Arndale had an extra treat for shoppers who were out celebrating payday – spend £60 in the Arndale and be rewarded with a bespoke illustrated tee of your own design and featuring the illustrations of the talented fashion illustrator Dom&Ink. As you can see, I couldn’t resist his unicorn, so went for something really cute and magical on mine!

The event was called Trends Illustrated, and Dom had also illustrated 7 characters inspired by Manchester fashion and this season’s hottest trends, including Tailored Chic, 70’s Boho Babe, Northern Quarter Hipster, and my favourite – Floral Belle with her floral print skirt and top knot. She’s definitely my closest SS15 match!

I went down at weekend with some other lovely bloggers to check out the event and have a chat with Dom and I was really impressed with the set up of the design stations (which were busy the whole time!). Anyone who’d qualified for the free tee could design and create their own t-shirt using any combination of the illustrations, textures, prints and templates loaded on the system. The opportunities seemed endless – the Trends Illustrated characters were on there to use, as well as loads of other quirky fashion and fantasy-related doodles by Dom. No two tees were the same! Once finished the designs were digitally printed onto your chosen style/size of t-shirt and were ready for collection within 5 minutes.

Here is my finished cropped tee design ready for printing! I’m pretty pleased with the final piece, which I’m sure I’ll be sporting in an outfit post as soon as the weather improves. All in all a great idea for shopping event! Did anyone else design one of these bespoke tees this weekend?
