New Year Cruelty-Free Skincare Favourites

I started this year with a brand new skincare routine. In my opinion there’s no better time to have a skincare splurge than January, when your skin is bearing the brunt of being stuck indoors with central heating or being blasted outdoors by icy wintry winds. Plus this year in particular we all need to treat ourselves a little, so I invested in some new skincare goodies from Beauty Kitchen.

Beauty Kitchen Skincare

Beauty Kitchen products are award-winning, certified cruelty free, vegan and microplastic free. Plus all of their packaging is compostable, recyclable or can be returned (by freepost or in Holland & Barratt stores) to be cleaned and refilled by them to make sure their bottles and tubs don’t end up in a landfill. This is exactly the kind of beauty brand I am looking for these days!

I’ve been a fan of Beauty Kitchen for about a year, but I’d never tried their award-winning Seahorse Plankton+ range. Don’t worry – there are no actual seahorses involved – these products are formulated with sustainably-sourced marine extracts including two types of microalgae and three hand-harvested seaweeds, that are scientifically proven to renew and protect your skin.

I wanted to give this collection a try, so I bought the Seahorse Plankton+ Complete Renew & Protect Kit, containing 6 products from the range. Here’s how I found them:

Seahorse Plankton+ Revitalising Gel Cleanser

This gentle cleanser smells amazing, like a spa, and protects as it cleanses your skin. I use it daily, cleansing with the all-natural, exfoliating Konjac Sponge which was also included in the kit.

Seahorse Plankton+ 5 Minute Miracle Mask

This miracle mask is currently my favourite product in the kit. I love that all you need is a thin application of this mask, for just 5 minutes, for hydrated, radiant, glowing skin! I also make good use of my konjac sponge to remove the mask, for some gentle exfoliation.

Seahorse Plankton+ Really Radiant Moisturiser

This is a great daily moisturiser for me – keeping my skin hydrated but without being too thick. My skin just loves it, and the scent is amazing too!

Seahorse Plankton+ High Definition Facial Oil

This facial oil is described as their most potent plankton-powered product. I like to apply it at night so I can wake up with dewy, glowing, refreshed skin in the morning.

Seahorse Plankton+ Bright Eyes Probiotic Serum

I try to use this eye serum at least once a day to nourish the skin around my eyes. I’m hoping it will keep me young-looking and wrinkle-free, but also, I do have sensitive skin, and this product is great because it doesn’t irritate at all!

Beauty Kitchen Seahorse Plankton

Overall I am really enjoying this gorgeous skincare range, and my skin feels like it is having a daily treat. They are reasonably priced products too, especially when you take advantage of their special offers, and I feel like I am doing my bit for the environment by shopping responsibly.
