I mentioned the black and white party I went to in yesterday’s post. What I didn’t mention is that it was a friend’s 30th birthday party and it was also a masquerade. So the occasion called for a mask, and I got a pretty Venetian filigree-style mask from ebay for £6 (made of plastic but still lovely!)
I stuck to the black and white theme with my striped jersey pencil skirt, which I find very versatile as I can wear it for work as well as dressed up like this! I paired this with a simple black peplum top, monochrome accessories and a spot of monochrome nail art.
Skirt from Primark; peplum top from ASOS, Monochrome bracelet set (was a present); ankle strap heels from Kurt Geiger; mask from ebay
As it was a masquerade I thought eye makeup would be key, so I did quite a heavy eye (for me) with tonal gold eye shadows from Urban Decay, and also a bright bold coral lip (Gay Geranium by No.7) as this is the only feature you can really see when wearing a mask.
I hope I get more occasions to wear this mask!
