Last night was Manchester’s official launch night of the Selfridges Beauty Project – a six week campaign which celebrates all definitions of beauty including Men and Beauty, Age and Beauty, Extreme Beauty and Natural Beauty (you can check out my earlier post for more on the campaign).
The launch night ticked so many boxes for me and they certainly knew the way to my heart with drinks served in milk bottles, rainbow meringues, quirky swing music from vintage DJs Broken Hearts (I am now a fan of these girls!) and a Tatty Devine bracelet as a wristband. I think they mean business with this campaign!
As well as all of that there was the beauty stuff too of course, with complimentary makeovers and treatments provided by the Beauty Hall brands. After a mini makeover from Illamasqua I treated myself to a pot of their fab gel liner, and I had to restrain myself from splashing out on some pastel GHD stylers, making do with having the GHD girls curl my hair (the stylers will have to go on the wishlist instead).
Anyway, the upshot is that the launch event was fab and the Beauty Project is now in full swing. The store is decked out with beauty-themed displays, and the campaign models and positive beauty slogans are being displayed proudly (as they should be). There are various activities happening in all of the Selfridges stores and in Manchester there are some really interesting talks coming up – see my earlier post for more details. I just love the positive “hello beautiful” message that this campaign is promoting!
