Last weekend I went down to the launch of The Vintage Beauty Parlour, which opened in Chorlton, Manchester. Decorated in vintage Hollywood style it will be a specialist salon for vintage makeovers and they’ll be creating authentic glamorous looks from the different eras, from 20’s flappers to 50’s pin-ups, something I was able to witness first hand at the launch!
The salon has been opened by hair and makeup artist Bethany Jane Davies (shown below with one bride whose look she created on her wedding day), and she’ll be working alongside her small team of vintage hair and makeup specialists on makeovers that will include a bespoke bridal service (I love the idea of a wedding-perfect vintage look!).
Not only that, with it’s pretty décor and downstairs space, they’ll also be hosting vintage hen parties and party packages that can include burlesque, charleston and jive classes, afternoon tea, pampering and vintage hair and makeup workshops. All of this sounds right up my street, and it’s now it’s all right here in Manchester under one roof!
The launch event itself was a great taster for the salon and it certainly drew in the locals who were intrigued to see this glamorous addition to the corner of a residential street in Chorlton. There was entertainment provided by vintage singer (and The Voice finalist) Miss Kiki De’Ville and a burlesque dancer, as well as the extremely impressive hair and makeup demos by the professionals, every one of them also modelling their own creations.
I think this is a gorgeous little gem of a place, and such a unique addition to Manchester (even though it’s a little out of the city centre). I look forward to having an excuse to pop down sometime!
Plus… today is the last chance to enter my chocolate giveaway!
Looks amazing. 🙂
